Open Lab: Ultra-Processed Food and Its Impact on IBD Care

Join us on 23 March 2026 (19:00–20:30 CET) for an Online Open Lab organised by IFCCA in collaboration with the EU-funded miGut-Health project.

This session will explore the role of ultra-processed food in IBD care and its potential impact on disease development and progression. Bringing together people living with IBD, families, researchers, and healthcare professionals, the Open Lab aims to foster dialogue, share perspectives, and strengthen patient-centred approaches to care.

The programme features leading experts and researchers, including:

  • Professor Johan Burisch, Professor of Gastroenterology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense University Hospital – on the role of ultra-processed food in IBD care

  • Dr. Dilara Usta, Researcher, Danish Cohort Study “Stress, Eating Habits, and IBD” – presenting preliminary survey results

  • Professor Guendalina Graffigna, Professor of Psychology, Catholic University of Milan – introducing the ENGAGE-IBD Guide and its approach to strengthening health engagement in IBD care

The session will also include an interactive workshop, inviting participants to exchange experiences and explore practical ways to enhance engagement and personalised care in Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
