Connecting the IBD Journey: The Role of IBD Nurses in Supporting Newly Diagnosed Patients
Join us on 30 September 2026 (17:00–18:00 CEST) for an IFCCA Talk exploring the role of IBD nurses in supporting people living with IBD, particularly during the early stages following diagnosis.
An IBD diagnosis can bring many questions — not only about treatment, but also about work, family, everyday life and what comes next. This session will bring together people living with IBD and IBD nurses to share perspectives on the practical and emotional challenges that can follow diagnosis, and how IBD nurses can provide information, guidance and ongoing support.
The programme will include a personal perspective on receiving an IBD diagnosis, followed by a panel discussion on navigating life after diagnosis.
The session will feature:
Alexandra Mitria, IFCCA Youth Group Leader
Cristiano Consorte, AMICI Italy
Simona Radice, N-ECCO Chair
Susanna Jäghult, Karolinska Institute, Sweden
The session will be moderated by Anastasia Ntanou, IFCCA Board member.
