ECCO consensus on management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease in low and middle-income countries

We are pleased to share that the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) has published a new consensus on the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs).

This important document highlights the growing incidence of IBD in these regions and the specific challenges in diagnosis, treatment, and access to multidisciplinary care. It calls for increased awareness, better access to diagnostic tools and therapies, and more research to address the unique needs of LMICs.

IFCCA welcomes this initiative and supports ECCO’s efforts to promote a more inclusive and global approach to IBD management—one that ensures equity of care and representation for patients worldwide.
