Module 3 of the Horizon Europe IFCCA Academy

Learn about Health Technology Assessment and its role in evaluating new treatments for Crohn’s disease.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Module 3 of the Horizon Europe IFCCA Academy: “Basics of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and its application to RNA-based medicines for Crohn’s disease within the GENEGUT project.”

In this module, Professor Dyfrig Hughes, Lead Health Economist at Bangor University (UK), introduces Health Technology Assessment and explains how new treatments can be assessed and compared with existing options, using examples relevant to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

The module also features a Q&A session led by Roberto Saldaña, IFCCA Innovation and Patient Engagement Coordinator. The discussion explores how patients’ experiences can inform treatment assessment, particularly in the context of the new EU HTA Regulation.

Who can participate?

The Academy is open to eligible participants from IFCCA’s member associations, with no limit on the number of participants per association.

To participate, you should:

  • Be an IBD patient aged 18 or over.

  • Be a member, volunteer or employee of an IFCCA member association.

  • Be familiar with IFCCA’s mission and values.

  • Feel comfortable learning in English, as all course materials are in English.

  • Be motivated to study independently and commit to online learning.

  • Be interested in raising awareness about IBD and contributing to your association’s activities and advocacy efforts.

Registered participants will receive further details by email, including instructions on accessing the module. Once registered, you will also receive email notifications whenever a new module is added.
